History
In 1987 three business leaders gathered in the Slatington Borough Hall. As a result of their efforts and many that followed the Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce grew quickly. Since that time the Chamber has played an active role in the Northern regions of Lehigh and Northampton County.
During the late 1990s the Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, while maintaining its autonomy and name, affiliated with the then Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce in an effort to increase its voice throughout the State of Pennsylvania. Over the next decade, many other local chambers affiliated with the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, creating the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce; the Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce changed its name to the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce as it grew to service members in North Whitehall Township, parts of Lehigh Township, Heidelberg Township, and Lynn Township.
Today the chamber affects public policy, contributes to the efforts of local revitalization, takes part and contributes to all community events, and holds events for its members to enjoy. The chamber meets monthly.
