Spirit Award

2009: Robert Treskot - Walnutport

Robert was honored on Monday, April 6, 2009, at The Other Side Restaurant, Neff’s Hotel, Neffs, PA. The evening included cocktails, dinner, and an awards program, where Robert was presented with proclamations from local dignitaries as well as the Chamber’s Spirit Award. Close friends and family spoke on Robert’s behalf.

Robert Treskot was chosen to receive the 2009 Spirit award for his extensive volunteer efforts that have benefited Slatington, Walnutport and the surrounding communities for many years. For the past twenty-three years he has served as the chairman for the Walnutport Carnival, in addition he is a member of the Walnutport Centennial Committee which was organized to coordinate the upcoming 2009 Walnutport Centennial Celebration.

He has been the treasurer of the Northern Lehigh Athletic Association for the past ten years as well as serving as the treasurer for the Northern Lehigh Softball Association. Robert continues to serve the following local community organizations not only as a member, but also as a valuable volunteer: Masonic Lodge 440, Order of the Eastern Star 458, the Walnutport Canal Association, the Walnutport Water & Sewer Authority, and Diamond Fire Company. In addition, he is a longstanding member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Palmerton.

Born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, Robert is a graduate of Slatington High School, and Delaware College. He has been employed by Air Products and Chemicals for the past twenty-five years, in addition to serving as a local tax collector for the last 8 years. Robert resides with his wife of 36 years, Nancy Treskot, and they have two daughters Tricia and Gale, and her husband George Husack III, in addition to two grandchildren: George IV and Madilynn.
